More broadly speaking, the quarterback’s job is to lead his team to victory by passing, running, and kicking. The quarterback is therefore the most important position on the field and the strength of the quarterback quite often determines the outcome of a game.
The following list ranks the Top 10 best NFL quarterbacks of all time based on the per-game stats the respective NFL quarterbacks managed to achieve throughout their career (whether it is over or still ongoing) as well as the number of titles the players won. The relevant stats for the ranking are net wins (wins minus defeats), completed passes, passing yards, and passing touchdowns divided through the number of games the respective NFL quarterback played/started in (season, postseason, and Super Bowls combined). The relevant titles are the number of Super Bowl championships, Super Bowl MVP and NFL (season) MVP titles won, wherein the number of won Super Bowls count double.
Note: In order to qualify for the ranking, NFL quarterbacks have to have amassed at least 100 wins in their respective careers.
